Your February Astrology Guide {2023}

Your Guide to the upcoming Astrological dates this month • Reading Time: 3 mins

Featuring: Lammas and Imbolc as we cross a new quarter of the Wheel, followed by a Full Moon in fiery Leo, the Day of Love or Lupercalia, finishing with Pisces Season and its New Moon...

We draw inspiration from the stars for you, bringing you a soft conversation each month about what the cosmos may have aligned for you and the collective. If the concepts resonate, delve a little more into it; if our words bounce back and sound too mysterious, let them go Beautiful Seeker (no offence to us!).

Our overview this month is inspired by exceptional sky-readers, primarily our very own Founder Britta and her channelled St Soleil Celestial Journal.

February 1 & 4, 2023: Cross-Quarter festivals, Lammas and Imbolc

Southern Hemisphere: L A M M A S
Also referred to as Lughnasadh, or the great festival of Lugh, the Celtic Sun King and God of Light. Lammas is the first of the three Fall harvest festivals and is a time of transition, change and shifts when we begin slowing down in preparation for fall reflection.
In the Southern Hemisphere, the last hurrah of the Sun’s energies beings in fiery Leo, as the abundance of growth receives the energy of daylight to complete its cycle of fruition.

Northern Hemisphere: I M B O L C

Hundreds of years ago, when our ancestors relied upon the Sun as their only source of light, the end of winter was met with much celebration. On this evening, when the sun has set once more, call it back by lighting the seven candles of this ritual ...
Imbolc is the cross-quarter sabbat marking the midpoint between Yule (Winter Solstice) and Ostara (Spring Equinox). A fire festival to celebrate the blessings of hearth and home. Imbolc reminds us that the sun is getting a little brighter, the Earth a little warmer, and we know that life is quickening within the soil.

Imbolc is a time of magical energy related to the feminine aspect of the goddess, of new beginnings, and of fire. It’s also a good time to focus on divination and increasing your own magical gifts and abilities. Take advantage of these concepts, and plan your workings accordingly…

February 5, 2023: Full Moon in Leo

Unjustified optimism, nervousness are characteristics of the Snow Full Moon in the sign of Leo, and can interfere with a sober assessment of the situation. The slightly nervous atmosphere that prevails on the February full moon is not conducive to harsh action. The best thing to do in this situation is to pause life. Do not plan anything important so as not to bring yourself to physical and mental exhaustion.

Leo belongs to the element of Fire, the planet-ruler is the Sun, the energy contained in it seethes and pushes to action. In turn, the Moon determines how plans and undertakings will be implemented. You just need to structure your ideas, direct energy in the right direction – and success will not keep you waiting.

February 14, 2023: The day of Love, Lupercalia

What does the symbol of Valentine’s Day mean to you?

A beautiful question to ponder upon, as our perfect angle to this celebration can be the perfect time for some TLC; the kind of love that fills your cup and makes every rounded angle spill out to the world around you… Petals of roses not torn apart but that each screams “madly”!

what does love mean to you...?

Lupercalia was the pagan festival on that day, celebrating fertility - but wait for it: “Men would strip naked and sacrifice a goat and dog. Young boys would then take strips of hide from the sacrificed animals and use it to whip young women, to promote fertility.” (thanks, NatGeo). Ugh, what a “ritual”!

Surprisingly, for no reason other than the spread of Christianity, the celebrations were banned and replaced with honouring the martyr Saint Valentine instead. The roman God of Love Cupid then came into the picture, son of Venus, taking the story back to mythology, the identity to Celestial Beings and how our ancestors also always looked to the skies.

Our wish to you is that the frequency of love reaches your every vibrational layers, beautiful being - you deserve nothing but love, the purest expression of you is love, and this week may it resonate deep into your heart…

February 18, 2023: Sun enter Pisces

New information, original ideas, or unusual encounters arising from Aquarius’ influence over the past few weeks. The climate in general is one of energy, exchange, communication, new dream-laden ideas, imagination, and poetry, but with it also comes the risk of confusion, distraction, or harmful illusion. It is up to each one of us to examine what the effect of this transit will be, in order to better prepare for what may happen over the next few weeks. Best-case scenario: new intellectual discoveries that have been made will be used wisely.

Swim in this with us: the strength of community from the beginning of the month will empower you to express your gifts in a unique way. There are treasures to be unveiled, and you only know which path to take. May it be a newfound way to love yourself; a sense of self-assurance to share innovative ways in your work environment; a communication stream flowing down from the center of your heart creating a magnet for more beautiful souls to join you in this earth mission.

February 20, 2023: New Moon in Pisces

She quiets you down into a contemplative state. Remove blocked energy that is holding you back. Consider your personal boundaries & how that has kept you from connecting with others on a more meaningful level.

A good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Fish. These include taking a leap of faith, accepting imperfections in ourselves and in others as a different kind of “perfection,” starting a project that requires imagination and visualization skills, consciously putting time aside for peaceful and rejuvenating activities, and sharing a dream with another.

With this potent Pisces energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives.
