{ MATERIALS / CARE  / SIZING }
We want you to love and adore your new St. Soleil pieces for years to come. On this page: Materials, Care & Warranty, Sizing

Jewellery
Material 1. Gold Filled: Gold filling is one of the most valuable and tarnish resistant processes for creating gold jewellery and other items. If properly cared for, your gold filled product can last a lifetime and thanks to its durability, there's no need to worry about wear.

Material 2. Gold Vermeil: Any of our Vermeil pieces are true gold vermeil. It has recycled 925 silver at its core and is plated in a thick layer of gold measuring 2.5-3.0 microns. This is 5 times thicker and longer-lasting than regular "gold-plated" jewellery, and 100 times thicker than flash-plated jewellery. We use 14k gold for its soft, elegant hue. Thanks to its thick layer of plating, the quality definitely does not fall far behind solid gold jewellery.

Gold vermeil is not the same as gold plated jewellery. Gold vermeil is a legally regulated term that refers to jewellery with a sterling silver base metal and a layer of gold plating that is at least 2.5 microns thick. Gold vermeil is superior to gold plated jewellery in terms of longevity, quality and value!

Material 3. ECO FRIENDLY Stainless Steel with Gold Plating: As Earth's most versatile and applicable metal alloy, stainless steel has a whole litany of properties that make it special.These properties all carry through to stainless steel jewellery, making these pieces some of the most versatile and lasting on the market. We love stainless steel because of it's extremely high durability, longevity, natural corrosion resistance & it doesn't harm the person making or wearing it.
  • Stainless steel doesn't physically degrade, and repairs itself quickly against oxidation.
  • It's 100% recyclable, and it's estimated that each new item contains up to 60% recycled material.
  • It is biologically inert, meaning that at a solid level, it does not give off any harmful chemicals.
Care: We recommend you remove jewellery before swimming, exercising, cleaning or anything else that may use chemicals or scratch the gold. It is also important to clean your jewellery to remove any dirt, sweat or chemicals that could react with the metals in your gold jewellery and prevent breakdown or damage.

• Stainless Steel & Gold Plated jewellery will turn naturally over time, but there's no way to reverse this. The beauty of our stainless steel jewellery is that it's thick Gold Plated & when it turns, it fades to a lovely ombre of Gold & Silver. This will happen • If your items turn quickly, it can be cause by a metal-to-skin oil reaction. Each persons oils make metal react differently, in this case, it's your responsibility to know your skin type and it’s reactions to different metals. We are not responsible for your skins reaction to metal or vice versa. Please take care of your magic x

Cleaning: To clean your gold jewellery, we recommend soaking in warm soapy water and buffing dry with a soft cloth or use a jewellery polishing cloth to help maintain shine. You can also use an ultrasonic machine for efficient, safe cleaning.

It can be quite common that gold jewellery can cause a blackening of the skin underneath an earring or ring and the reasons for this (beyond the purity of the gold) can be environmental, chemical and biological. The changes in your body’s chemistry, instigated by fluctuating pH levels can also cause reactions between your skin and the jewellery worn.
