Dream a little {Lucid} Dream...

Dream a little {Lucid} dream • Reading Time: ~3 mins

An infinite world is available behind the golden curtain of your eyelids. Every day that draws to a close is an opportunity to connect with deeper aspects of our psyche, heal traumas or resolve situations on a vibrational level, communicate with other realms…

But did you know that you also hold the ability to bring your full awareness to your dreamstate, and take a form of control on the outcome of this fantasy world?

Vivid vs Lucid Dreaming

You may be familiar with the concept of vivid dreaming: etymologically stemming from the latin “spirited, animated” (vividus), this type of dream is similar to watching a movie. Your sense of identity can alternate between first, second and third person, and the environment can be very clear or appear as totally foreign to anything your eyes have experienced in human life.

Vivid dreams can survive at the waking stage in forms of memories, but we have no power to change the course of their evolution.

Whilst both happen in deep REM sleep, beginning with lucid dreaming (latin: lux, bright, clear, shining) opens a whole new realm of possibilities. Simple practices aim to make you aware that you are dreaming, by blurring the boundary between waking and sleeping states. Advanced practices result in empowering parts of your brain to use reasoning skills and change the evolution of a dream to serve your higher purpose and feed your subconscious with new pathways, or messages from unperceived dimensions and guides.

Woah!

In 2009, a study by the Neurological Laboratory in Frankfurt resulted in the recognition of lucid dreams as a new state of consciousness. Altered brain activity in the frontopolar cortex is connected to higher cognitive functions, and in spirituality it can be associated to the opening of the third-eye chakra or pineal gland.

Dreaming dissolves the Self to connect to a greater purpose, and this power resides in detaching from our ego identity to find trust in the magic of the cosmos.

Dreams as Oracles

It may be no secret to you that the Roman, Egyptian, Greek and Indian civilizations were ultra intuitive and connected in ways we are still decoding.

Dreams were to them what modern-day oracle decks are to us. They built temples to channel guidance from the unseen dimensions, and communicate with Gods/Goddesses and Deities.

Along with sacred practices to call upon specific situations, and resolutions, the interpretation of messages received was equally as precious. We called upon the “Masters of the secret things” and “priests with specialization in dreams” to ground the frequencies onto our earthly daily lives, and obtain the nectar of our dream state to serve us here and now.

After our Lucid Dreams Tarot for Beginners, our founder channelled an Advanced Mystic Dreams Tarot Deck which could be a wonderful modern divination tool to guide your interpretation!

The Dreamtime

Closer to St Soleil’s birthplace, the aboriginal people of Australia perceive dreams as a transcendence back to their ancestral time, when all was created. “Dreamtime” encompasses therefore the knowledge of Creation and all its symbols are a key pillar of their culture and belief system. “The Dreamtime, or the Dreaming as it is sometimes referred to as, has no beginning or end but links the past with the present to determine the future.”

Being an actor in your dreamstate: simple lucid dreaming practices

“Dream retention is a muscle; pushups are to our arms what dream journaling is to our very souls.” Ben Ulansey tells us on Medium.

𓂀 Lucid Practice #1: bless a Dream Journal to become your bedside companion. Form the simple habit of writing as soon as you awake, capturing ethereal messages and symbols that came to your vision. There is no right or wrong in the world of dreaming, judgment stays in its cage, and it is just You serving your beautiful soul.

{Hint: we have just launched our Sacred Dreams Journal - here, for you}

𓂀 Lucid Practice #2: perform reality checks several times during the day. Ask yourself: “Am I dreaming right now?”. This bridges the gap between heaven and earth and starts blurring the boundaries. You can also read a clock, push your finger through the palm of your hand, light a candle and feel its warmth…

𓂀 Lucid Practice #3: repeat a mantra before falling asleep, such as “tonight, I will be aware that I am dreaming”, after sipping on a blend of lotus tea for example.

Many more practices are available, so just open the door and dive in!

May your dreams bring mystical visions for your highest purpose,
