Your Guide to the upcoming Astrological dates this month • Reading Time: 3 mins

Featuring: Full Moon in Gemini, Capricorn Season, Litha and Yule {Winter and Summer Solstices}, New Moon in Capricorn, Mercury Retrograde

We draw inspiration from the stars for you, bringing you a soft conversation each month about what the cosmos may have aligned for you and the collective. If the concepts resonate, delve a little more into it; if our words bounce back and sound too mysterious, let them go Beautiful Seeker (we promise we won’t take it personally!).

Our overview this month is inspired by exceptional sky-readers, primarily our very own Founder Britta and her channelled Celestial Journal, and by the divine Cafe Astrology.

December 7, 2022: Full Moon in Gemini

“Learning new things, using the new information to improve yourself, and lots of social activity. Your quest for knowledge is so personally fulfilling at this time. Give up a bad mental habit as the moon begins to wane.” St Soleil Celestial Journal, Page 25.

Gemini for you, dear ones who seek the balance of Moon and Sun within! An auspicious gift from our galaxy on this socially hyped season - perfection, we say!
Bask in her light - she is begging you to honour all versions of what makes your humanness, and to offer it to those around you.

♑︎
December 21, 2022: Entering Capricorn Season

“This transit emphasises the qualities of endurance, seriousness, ambition, and depth. Return to authentic, tried and true values. Long-term undertakings, long-lasting accomplishments, and measured, controlled exchanges with others are typical of this period. This is a positive configuration for all those who have ambitions, & who laud self-discipline. This would be a good time, too, to rise up through the ranks: this mood easily lends itself to this. Take care of your assets during this transit, and make sensible decisions that bring financial and emotional security. ” St Soleil Celestial Journal, Page 28.

December 21, 2022: Yule {NH} and Litha {SH}

Northern Hemisphere: celebrating Yule, the Winter Solstice

The Winter Solstice Sabbat honours the return of the Light after the longest night of the year. A celebration of rebirth and new beginnings.
The Yule season is full of magic, much of it focusing on rebirth and renewal, as the sun makes its way back to the Earth. Focus on this time of new beginnings with your magical workings!

__
Southern Hemisphere: celebrating Litha, the Summer Solstice

The Summer Solstice celebration marks the longest day and shortest night of the year and is the most powerful day of the year for the Sun God. Because this Sabbat glorifies the Sun God and the Sun, fire plays a very prominent role in this festival. The element of Fire is the most easily seen and immediately felt element of transformation. It can burn, consume, cook, shed light or purify and balefires still figure prominently at modern Midsummer rites.

December 23, 2022: New Moon in Capricorn

“Evaluate priorities, make positive changes to eliminate wasted energy. At some point, we stop to consider our place in this world — what we have to contribute to society and where our path lies.” St Soleil Celestial Journal, Page 24.

There is no better alignment to do this that… the end of a {roman} calendar year.
These past 11 moon cycles have unfolded before you, your body kept breathing you into life, the sun showed up as much as it possibly could, and you have been held in embraces beyond your imagination. The Earth has held you and allowed you to bloom.

Reflect: how did I step into the person I wanted to become in 2022?

December 24 and 25, 2022: Sun God / Christmas Celebrations

Did you know that what we celebrate today as Christ’s Mass (and the supposed birth of baby Jesus), follows centuries of pagan and roman traditions?

Thousands of years ago, communities gathered during the Winter Solstice, and many rituals were inherited in today’s way of celebrating the end of December.
“The first celebrations can be traced to Stonehenge and then further, all across the world. It wasn’t until 325 AD that Christmas was introduced over the spring equinox (March 25th) and another 25 years before it was moved to the winter solstice with the pagan sun gods. It was Pope Gregory in 1582 who created the Gregorian calendar and moved Christmas to December 25th.” (Beth Train-Brown, December 2019).

The darker days in the Northern Hemisphere invite us for some cheer, lighting up our internal bonfires, honouring beauty and cosiness, gathering, creation and giving.
The lighter days in the Southern Hemisphere may therefore invite all to hold the Sun in their hearts for the conscious collective…

May the end-of-year celebrations be a reminder of our interconnectedness - here, and everywhere, and a beautiful opportunity to gift ourselves fully.

December 29, 2022: Mercury Retrograde {till January 19, 2023}

Well, well… what an interesting turn of events in our Father Sky:
“Mercury retrograde is a time for channeling mental energy inward, reflecting, re-assessing, and rethinking whatever it is we've been focused on over the past few months. When Mercury is in retrograde, our communication will be challenged. Watch out for misunderstandings, miscommunications and any unnecessary arguments that may arise.” from our Celestial Journal.

Timely, in between celebrations!
Meditate, Integrate, Forgive and Love.
Step into 2023 with a light heart center.

We wish you the most beautiful time surrounded by love, and some form of fire!

See you on the other side...
